A sofa bed earns its place when it works as a proper lounge first and a bed second. Most do it the other way round, which is why people stop using them. The BELFAST is the one we stock because it sits like a normal four seater corner lounge, and the bed is a bonus rather than the point.
How it works. The seat pulls forward into a bed in one movement, with no cushions to take off and stack. The chaise lifts up and there is storage underneath, enough for the spare bedding, so the bed and its linen live in the same piece of furniture. A matching ottoman comes with it. Push it against the chaise for a longer lounge, or pull it out as a footstool. The headrests ratchet up when you want to sit back properly.
It is woven fabric with tufted seats, in dark grey or light grey, and it is $1,899. Delivery across South East Queensland from $55, or pick it up free from the showroom.
If you are weighing it against a futon or a fold-out from a department store, come and sit on it. It is on the floor at 1/8 Boyland Avenue, Coopers Plains, open 7 days from 10am to 4:30pm, and the difference is obvious in about ten seconds.
