Designer is a word retailers use loosely, so here is what we mean by it. These are the suites chosen for how they look first and how they sit second. Curved frames rather than square ones, detailing you notice from the doorway, and colours that are doing something instead of disappearing into the wall.
All of it is imported direct, which is the only reason a statement suite lands at these prices. A designer look does not have to carry a designer markup. It usually does.
What makes a suite a statement piece
-
The silhouette. A curved frame reads as considered, and it softens a room in a way a hard-edged one cannot at the same dimensions.
-
The detailing. Gold trim along a base, deep-button tufting, quilted accent panels. Small things, and they are the whole difference between a lounge and a piece of furniture people comment on.
-
Colour doing some work. A flat mid-grey is a safe choice. A grey with a green tinge in the weave, or a black velvet with gold trim, is a decision.
MONACO
$2,399 for a 3+2+1 set, six seats across three pieces. Soft warm fabric in a light grey with a green tinge through it, so it reads warmer than a flat grey does under Queensland light. Curved lines, plush cushioning, a thin gold trim along the base, and designer scatter cushions included.
It is the quietest thing in this collection, which is exactly why it works in a formal front room without turning it into a showroom.
The velvet statement suites
The SYDNEY Chesterfield and the DIVINE are the loud end of this range, both velvet, both six seats in three pieces. SYDNEY is deep-button tufting and curved Chesterfield arms. DIVINE is gold trim and quilted panels on a curved modern frame, in black or beige. Stock arrives by container, so call to check what is on the floor before you drive out.
NORA
A three-piece suite in soft textured light grey fabric, six seats, with curved lines and deep-button detailing. The armchair has a taller back than the sofas, so it supports your neck if you are the one who falls asleep in the chair. Designer scatter cushions included.

Come and see it in the room
Detailing is the part a photograph flattens. Gold trim and quilting either work in your room or they do not, and that is a decision best made with a hand on the fabric. The showroom is at 1/8 Boyland Avenue, Coopers Plains, open 7 days from 10am to 4:30pm. Call 0487 493 749 before you drive out to check what is on the floor.
