A recliner suite is the piece of furniture in the house people argue over, because everybody wants the good seat. The decision that actually matters is not the colour. It is whether the seats move by hand, by one motor, or by two.
We carry recliners from $550 for a single armchair to $2,899 for a six seat sectional with everything built into it, imported direct from the factory to Coopers Plains.
Manual, electric, or dual motor
Manual is a lever and your own weight. Nothing to plug in, nothing to fail, and it costs less. HENNESSY is the manual one, a 3+2+1 suite in Capri leather, six seats, $2,199 for the set. The pieces also sell separately: a single armchair is $550, a 2 seater $800, a 3 seater $1,100. Black and latte brown.
Electric is a button, with one motor moving the back and the footrest together along a fixed path. It is the easier option if you have a sore back or a bad shoulder, and the difference is obvious the first time you try both. JASON is electric on every seat, Rhino fabric with LED lighting and a console, $2,099 for the full 3+2+1 in black or tan. HIWA is an electric corner suite in Capri leather at $2,599. MILANO and ASPEN are electric in genuine leather at $2,799.
Dual motor means the back and the footrest move independently, so you can sit upright with your feet up instead of being tipped flat. ROMA is the only dual-motor suite we stock, $2,899, and its headrests are motorised on a separate control as well.
What ROMA has that the others do not
Six pieces, dual-motor recliners at both ends, motorised adjustable headrests, a built-in wireless phone charger, reading lights, cupholders, and a storage compartment in the console for remotes and chargers. It is air leather, a hard-wearing synthetic rather than hide, and we would rather say so here than let you assume otherwise.
Two things people forget to check
-
A powerpoint. Every electric suite needs one within reach of where the lounge will actually sit. An extension lead run across a walkway is not a plan.
-
Wall clearance. A recliner needs room behind it to go back, and the amount differs by suite. Measure out from the wall before you commit to a layout, and ask us how much the one you like needs.
Leather or fabric
It spreads across the range, so the recline mechanism and the material are separate decisions. HENNESSY and HIWA are Capri leather, a hard-wearing synthetic. ROMA is air leather, also synthetic. MILANO and ASPEN are genuine hide. JASON is Rhino fabric, the toughest weave we use. We will always tell you which is which, because the word leather on its own means very little in this trade.

Come and work the buttons
Recline is the one thing you cannot judge from a photo, and manual against electric against dual motor is a five minute decision once you are sitting in all three. They are on the floor at 1/8 Boyland Avenue, Coopers Plains, open 7 days from 10am to 4:30pm. Call 0487 493 749 to check what is on the floor before you drive out.
Questions people ask about recliner lounges
Is manual or electric cheaper?
Manual. HENNESSY is $2,199 for a 3+2+1 in Capri leather, and a single HENNESSY armchair is $550. Electric suites start at $2,099 for the JASON 3+2+1 in Rhino fabric.
Can I buy just one recliner chair?
Yes. The HENNESSY armchair sells on its own at $550, the 2 seater at $800 and the 3 seater at $1,100.
Do electric recliners need a power point?
Yes, one within reach of each powered piece. Check where the sockets are before you decide on a layout.
How much room does a recliner need behind it?
It differs by suite. Measure out from the wall, tell us which one you like, and we will give you the clearance it needs.
Which recliners are genuine leather?
MILANO, ASPEN and ASPECT. HENNESSY and HIWA are Capri leather and ROMA is air leather, all synthetics. JASON is Rhino fabric.
